Data Exchange Standards and Formats
1C solutions use open and common standards, schemes, formats and data
exchange protocols, including:
CommerceML standards are used for business information exchange (i.e.
documents) between various information systems.
The first edition of CommerceML standard was developed in 2000 by 1C Company
and Extra.RU company with the support of technical specialists of Microsoft
representative office in Russia.
There is an agreement, signed between 1C Company, Microsoft Corporation, a
number of other Russian Internet-companies and Moscow office of Intel
Corporation, to support and development a uniform standard for business
information transfer in XML format.
The standards allow to significantly reduce costs establishing information
communication between various companies. Customers using software that supports
the standards benefit from reducing costs for software adaptation for
information exchange, which becomes unnecessary.
Developers made the standards as open as possible, so that it could evolve
basing on real market needs and be supported by as many as possible number of
other economical software vendors and Internet-companies.
The developed standards include advantages of those used in Western Europe.
However, it takes into account Russian specifics and includes several universal
solutions required for Russian Internet-companies and trade organizations. At
the same time, CommerceML standards have much in common with solutions used in
the most popular local Internet-trade systems.
At present, the first and second editions of CommerceML and CommerceML EDI
standards are published.
